Reason for Treason - Why did Treason of Isengard get cancelled?

More than two years ago dozens of game companies rushed, with all the seemingly best intentions, to nail down the videogame rights to then up-and-coming Lord of the Rings movies envisioned by director Peter Jackson. Fast forward to fall 2003, and VU Games, which published Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring for PS2 and Xbox in 2002, announced Friday the cancellation of the sequel, Lord of the Rings: Treason of Isengard on both systems because it did not meet expectations.
