Gollum In Quake?

Anyone familiar with "The Lord Of The Rings" is familiar with the story of Smeagol/Gollum. A creature possibly of Halfling lineage whose friend Deagol found "the one ring" made by Sauron. At once corrupted by its evil magic, Smeagol murdered his friend Deagol and took the ring for himself. Amazing, the influence of Tolkien has spread even to the Quake frontier. Thanks to Tifhany for bringing this to my attention, i'm sure all the Quake/LOTR fans out there will be glad to know.

Update: DarthCaeser reported on this story on 8/20/01: My favorite character is Gollum and he's sort of the reason I'm writing. There is a "skin" of Gollum for the PC game Unreal Tournament. You can find it at http://www.planetunreal.com/skincity/. He is on page 9 of the Models/Converted page."

My mistake, the skin was originally created for Unreal tournament, another first person shoot'em up game. Thanks also to Chris for pointing this out.
